Martin Koneberg, Head of Alternative Investments, Bayerische Versorgungskammer

Martin Koneberg has been responsible for investments in equities and alternative risk premiums at the Bavarian Pension Chamber (BVK) since January 2021. His main areas of expertise include global equity investments, convertible bonds, and investments in hedge funds and commodities. Previously, he was responsible for investments in alternative investments (including private equity, infrastructure and timber) starting 2014. He began his professional career with an apprenticeship as a banker at Dresdner Bank AG, followed by studies in business administration at the University of Passau and at the Università degli Studi di Verona. Mr. Koneberg has also been a CAIA charterholder since 2009. As Germany's largest public-law pension group, the Bavarian Chamber of Retirement Provision runs the business of twelve legally independent professional and municipal pension schemes with a total of approx. 1.9 million insured persons, annual premium and contribution income of approx. € 4.8 billion and annual pension payments of approx. € 3.4 billion. For all institutions together, it manages a capital investment volume of currently approx. 95 billion €. BVK has been a signatory to the PRI guidelines since 2011.
