Klaus Schmid, Franklin Real Asset Advisors
Klaus Schmid is Managing Director of Acquisitions and has been with Franklin Real Asset Advisors since September 2021. Based in London, he is responsible within the acquisitions team for identifying, evaluating, and executing new transactions.
Mr. Schmid has more than 20 years of experience in private equity real estate and has executed transactions totaling over €5 billion across most European markets. Most recently, he served as Head of Real Estate Investments at Roundhill Capital Europe. Prior to that, he held various leadership roles, including Director and senior member of the transactions team at Marathon Asset Management, as well as Senior Vice President at Heitman Europe. He began his career in 2001 in the private equity real estate group at Lehman Brothers in London.
Mr. Schmid holds a CEMS Master’s degree as well as a Master’s degree in Finance from WU Vienna. He is fluent in German, French, Spanish, and Portuguese.
