Frank Sibert, BNP Paribas
Frank Sibert (born 1967) is Senior Advisor Sustainable Advisory & Business and Energy Transition Expert at BNP Paribas Germany. In this role, he was a member of the German Federal Government's Advisory Council on Sustainable Finance and represents the BNP Paribas Group in the H2Global Foundation, focusing on international projects and financing in cooperation with leading global funding institutions.
With a degree in banking and finance (BA), Sibert has more than 30 years of experience in banking. Before being appointed Head of Sustainable Finance at BNP Paribas NL Germany in 2016, he held senior positions at BNP Paribas S.A. in Geneva and Moscow, including Deputy Head of Territory for Energy & Commodities in Russia and Eastern Europe. Prior to that, Sibert worked for the Dresdner Bank Group in Miami, USA, where he was responsible for corporate banking in the USA and Central America. In Germany, he works on financing the decarbonisation of municipal utilities, developing hydrogen infrastructure and financing innovative companies in the field of green technology.
Sibert is a lecturer at the European Business School (EBS) in Wiesbaden and is involved locally in the expansion of renewable energies in Germany. In this role, he is a member of the supervisory board of a local municipal utility in Hesse, among other things.
