Tanja Volksheimer, NEXT Generation Invest

Tanja Volksheimer holds a degree in architecture from RheinMain University of Applied Sciences and a Master of Science in Technical Building Management from Mainz University of Applied Sciences. She also completed further training in sustainable investment and real estate financing at EBS European Business School, obtaining certificates in “Sustainable and Responsible Investing” and “Real Estate Investment and Finance.” She gained international practical experience in the USA, Italy, and New Zealand, among other places.

Her professional career spans around 20 years in the fields of investment, asset, and portfolio management with a focus on core and core+ strategies. Her first position was as an asset and investment manager at the British investor GPT Halverton (now Principal), where she was responsible for office, light industrial, logistics, and retail real estate. She then spent almost 14 years at Nuveen Real Estate, the investment manager of the largest US teachers' pension fund. There, she was responsible for fund management for impact and ESG strategies in the residential segment and in alternative asset classes in Germany.

As Managing Director of NEXT Generation Invest AG, she is now responsible for developing, managing, and implementing fund and investment strategies. She places particular emphasis on impact-oriented investment approaches. She also heads the real estate working group of the German federal initiative Impact Investing.
