Following the success of previous editions, the BAI will once again host a full-day Sustainable Finance & ESG Workshop on Wednesday, 2 December 2026, at the Audimax of Frankfurt School Forum in Frankfurt am Main.
One thing is clear: SFDR 2.0 will be a major topic at the workshop, which will take place during the Advent season. The trilogue on this topic will be in full swing, and the regulatory recognition of impact investing will be examined in terms of its implications, remaining challenges, and opportunities, as will the newly proposed category system of “Basics,” “Sustainable,” and “Transformation.”
Heike Schmitz, partner at Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer and a member of the German federal government’s Sustainable Finance Advisory Board, will outline the context and moderate a panel discussion on SFDR 2.0, joined by Constantin Krause of EY and other experts. A panel featuring representatives from KfW Capital and KENFO, among others, will examine the question of how institutional investors implement impact strategies.
Silke Stremlau, executive director of the think-and-do tank F4T and also a member of the Practical Advisory Board, outlines the challenges of the municipal heating transition and how more private capital can be brought into the mix, together with Anna Dißmann.
Lars Bauschus of LVM Versicherung, together with moderator Jegor Tokarevich of SOF/RiskConcile Group, discusses – in their well-established style – how institutional investors are responding to and preparing for the changes brought about by the various omnibus bills in the area of ESG regulation and reporting.
The workshop will feature case studies, best practices, industry standards, and ESG solutions – truly a “reunion" of practitioners for practitioners and investors.
The event is aimed at professionals interested in sustainability topics from the BAI member community, the asset management industry, service providers and institutional investors.
