Dr Theresa Kreft-Tönningsen, Freshfields
Theresa Kreft-Tönningsen advises investment fund managers, asset managers, financial institutions, insurance companies and financial investors on issues of German and European financial regulatory law with a particular focus on investment law.
Theresa Kreft-Tönningsen has particular regulatory expertise in relation to the launch and distribution of investment funds, including the regulation of investments by insurance companies and sustainability reporting (SFDR) for investment funds. A further focus is on the ESG regulation of asset managers and other financial institutions as well as securities trading law issues, including trading in investment fund units. She also advises on M&A transactions in relation to regulated financial companies, in particular asset managers, fund managers, fund platforms and insurance companies.
Theresa Kreft-Tönningsen has worked in the legal department of an asset manager of a German insurance group.
Theresa Kreft-Tönningsen regularly publishes articles and gives lectures on regulatory issues in the field of investment law and asset management.
She speaks German and English.
