Bundesverband Alternative Investments e.V. (BAI)

Private Equity (PE) ist ein Sammelbegriff für alle Arten von Investitionen in das Eigenkapital von nicht börsennotierten Unternehmen (Corporates). PE-Fonds, welche von Asset-Managern geführt werden, sammeln Kapital von Investoren ein und investieren dieses anschließend sukzessive in einzelne Zielunternehmen. Die Rolle der Asset-Manager besteht darin, geeignete Transaktionen ausfindig zu machen, sie zu analysieren, Vertragsverhandlungen und -abschlüsse mit den Zielunternehmen durchzuführen sowie in aller Regel auch das Management der Zielgesellschaft zu unterstützen. Diese Unterstützung kann dazu beitragen, das finanzierte Unternehmen organisatorisch und strukturell zu optimieren. Bei der Anlage in PE wird zwischen verschiedenen Investitionsphasen und Beteiligungsstrukturen unterschieden, für die jeweils spezifische Rendite- und Risikoaspekte gelten. Venture Capital gilt als eine der Ausprägungen von PE.

Private Equity, or PE, is a collective term for all types of investment in the equity of unlisted companies (corporates). PE funds, which are managed by asset managers, collect capital from investors and then successively invest it in individual target companies. The role of asset managers is to identify suitable transactions, analyse them, negotiate and conclude contracts with the target companies and, as a rule, also to support the management of the target company. This support can help to optimise the financed company in organisational and structural terms. When investing in PE, a distinction is made between different investment phases and investment structures, each of which is subject to specific return and risk aspects. Venture capital is considered one of the forms of PE.

The newsletter also includes presentations of new books and an event calendar. It is sent to around 4,700 addressees.The newsletter itself is in German, with sometimes articles in English.
